MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From Nov. 30 to Dec. 6 there were:
- 641 calls for service
- 12 arrests
- 16 traffic collisions
- 40 crime reports taken

- In the hours between Dec. 4 and 5 a suspect attempted to burglarize a store in Manhattan Beach after it was locked for the night, police said. When employees returned the following morning, they noticed the door's lock was damaged. According to police, the latch mechanism on the doors was cut through, but nothing appeared to be tampered with and nothing was stolen.
- On Dec. 2 a group of high school boys robbed another minor near the loading docks by Target. According to police, the victim was approached by four to five other boys who demanded he empty his pockets.
- In the early hours of the morning on Dec. 6 at a bar in the city, five separate people reported their phones were stolen from their pockets or purses without them noticing, MBPD said. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
- Officers responded to a report of a suspect stealing a case of Dom Perignon on Dec. 6. A Good Samaritan at the store stopped the suspect before he fled the scene, allowing officers to arrest him when they arrived. According to police, it was revealed that the subject had two outstanding warrants after they conducted a records check.
