MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.

From April 25 to May 1 there were:

  • 589 calls for service
  • 12 arrests
  • 15 traffic collisions
  • 53 crime reports taken

  • On April 27 a victim contacted police to report a theft from inside their car. The victim parked their car in the El Porto parking lot and left their keys on the wheel of the vehicle and went surfing. When they returned, the keys were stolen and they were locked out of their car. When they were able to get inside they discovered their wallet was missing and noticed there were fraudulent charges on their credit cards.
  • On April 28, another burglary occurred in the El Porto parking lot. The victim left their keys wrapped in a towel on the sand and went swimming. When they returned from the water their keys were missing. When they checked their car, they found their keys placed on top of the door handle and noticed two credit cards were missing from their wallet. Fraudulent charges were also made on their credit card.
  • On April 28 a suspect shattered the driver's side window of a car parked at Marine Park. The victim's purse was stolen and they later discovered fraudulent charges on their credit card.
