MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Chaz Flemmings, one of seven candidates running for three open seats on the Manhattan Beach City Council in the Nov. 3rd election, is holding an open public Zoom today [Saturday, Oct. 10] from 10-11 a.m. called "Fact Check Saturday." The topic arises from articles on Flemmings in the local weekly print newspapers the Easy Reader and the Beach Reporter this past Thursday.

Posted Flemmings on social media, "Let's talk about the facts, and I'm not going to retract! Don't let the media dictate your vote! I will be discussing the published, printed media in the last 7 days from the Easy Reader and Beach Reporter."

Flemmings maintains that each published article contains inaccurate information about him and though the publications may have corrected the errors in their online versions of the articles, he wants retractions in their print versions and aims to set the record straight during his Zoom today.

"Ask me anything," his social media post read. Flemmings, who is 29 and the second youngest of the seven candidates [Phoebe Lyons is the youngest at 23], has been waging a campaign since July when he pulled papers to run. In a July interview with Manhattan Beach Patch, he said, "For Manhattan Beach I will be a highly indefatigable advocate for our city and a new generation of topics so that we can make a positive and innovative change as one of the leading Beach Cities! I support a better technological infrastructure, refined public services, cleaner streets and beaches. I'll protect the police and FD!"

"Manhattan Beach has one of the strongest, well trained, empathetic, and responsive police departments in the Beach Cities and Los Angeles County. We must work with our police department ... other communities to learn and work with other community leaders to lead a change where everyone feels welcomed by the citizens and public services," Flemmings said in that July interview.
