MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Manhattan Beach Police caught four alleged car burglars early this morning after a call of suspicious activity in the 1800 block of Laurel Avenue in the Tree Section.
An MBPD officer saw a vehicle leaving the area and made a traffic stop, said Tim Zins, MBPD's community affairs sergeant and public information officer. "One of the four occupants was on PRCS [Post Release Community Supervision]," Zins told Manhattan Beach Patch. "A search of the vehicle revealed stolen property and all four occupants were arrested for 496 PC – receiving stolen property."
The police department is asking residents in the area of 1800 Laurel Avenue to check security cameras to see if they have any footage of "suspicious subjects looking into cars or actually in their cars." Footage should be sent to Detective Derek San Agustin at dsanagustin@citymb.info. He can also be reached at (310) 802-5133.
