Car Runs into Manhattan Beach Pet Store

The driver reportedly said his foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas pedal.

A vehicle drove through the window of a popular independent pet store in Manhattan Beach this morning.

Pet Foods Market, located at 1813 Sepulveda Blvd. is still open despite the incident, which took place around 9:20 a.m.

No one in the store nor the driver of the white Mercedes was injured in the accident.

The owners of the store, Barbara Toth and Liva Schachinger, were told by the Manhattan Beach Fire Department that the man stated that his foot slipped off the brake and onto the gas pedal, which propelled him through the window.

The owners of the store were visibly shaken. The car was removed from the store and was resting in front with the driver still in the drivers seat.

Those wishing to visit the store should enter through the rear entrance.
