MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — It may be late September, we may not be back in school on campus, but there's still lots to do in sunny Manhattan Beach during the pandemic.
- First up, take a look at Tabula Rasa Essentials "Christmas in September" sale today through Sunday, in store and online. With a code for 20% off holiday entertaining, ornaments, pillows and more, this sale is worth checking out, especially since due to COVID-19, shipping schedules are unpredictable, says Tabula Rasa Owner Maureen McBride. The 20% off includes all Vetri [not just holiday merchandise] and the new Regalia collection featuring champagne flutes and stemless wine glasses. The store at 919 Manhattan Avenue in downtown Manhattan Beach is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday-Sunday for the sale. Tabula Rasa offers free gift wrapping so let their design staff make it a festive wrap for you. Use Code "Sept20" online at checkout for your 20% off.
- You can donate blood Friday, Sept. 25 in Manhattan Beach via a Kinecta Federal Credit Union Blood Drive. Details and registration links in this article: Blood Drive Friday, Sept. 25 At Kinecta In Manhattan Beach
- The family-friendly virtual live event Culture Club South Bay offers its second show this Saturday, Sept. 26 from 4:30-5:15 p.m. Created and organized by Manhattan Beach resident Allison Hales, Culture Club is about diversity and inclusion and celebrates differences through arts, food, lifestyle and performance. Hales, a local real estate agent, has lived in the United Kingdom and New York and brings ethnic and cultural differences forward so we can appreciate them.
- Head to downtown Manhattan Beach to enjoy the surf, sand and sun. Now that summer is gone, the Roundhouse Aquarium at the end of the Manhattan Beach Pier has reverted to its weekend-only schedule. Walk to the end of the pier Saturday and Sunday for open-air aquarium animals and displays just outside of the aquarium.
- Need some exercise for the kids and/or you! Reserve a time to walk, run or climb up and down the natural dune at Sand Dune Park. Or, reserve time in the outdoor Begg Pool or at the outdoor Skate Spot skatepark at Marine Avenue Park.
