DUI And Driver License Checkpoint Coming To Manhattan Beach
"The intent of the checkpoint is to encourage sober designated drivers," the Manhattan Beach Police Department said in a statement.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The Manhattan Beach Police Department will be conducting a DUI/Driver License checkpoint this Friday, July 19, from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to promote public safety, increase awareness of the dangers associated with drinking and driving, and deter impaired driving and unlicensed driving, according to MBPD.
"The intent of the checkpoint is to encourage sober designated drivers," the MBPD press release said. "By publicizing these educational and enforcement efforts, the Manhattan Beach Police Department believes that drinking and driving and driving while unlicensed will be reduced."

The public is encouraged call 9-1-1 if they see a suspected impaired driver to help keep roadways safe.
