Officers sent there on a call that a vehicle had stopped in a traffic lane saw that a woman had a gun, Collins said. The officers took cover and ordered the people to get out of the vehicle.
“An officer-involved shooting then occurred,” he said. “Both occupants were struck by gunfire and the female occupant possessing the firearm was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The wounded man died at a hospital, Collins said. A gun was recovered at the scene of the shooting, police said.
The coroner’s office withheld the names of the dead, pending completion of family notification.
Inglewood police asked anyone with any information regarding the shooting to call them at (310) 412-5246.
