Manhattan Beach: Helicopters Nearby Due To FedEx Emergency At LAX
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at LAX this morning for a FedEx cargo jet that ordered an emergency landing.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A FedEx cargo plane made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport this morning around 4 a.m., according to a Los Angeles Fire Department tweet. The plane carried two pilots, one of whom was injured while exiting the plane.
LAFD was put on "full alarm" before the jet's arrival and was on hand to respond to the sparks and flames that shot out as the plane was landing. The Boeing 767-300, which apparently had some sort of malfunction, was damaged in the landing, according to CBS Los Angeles. The injured pilot's leg injury was said to be non life threatening and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
