MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From Oct. 3 to 9 there were:
- 812 calls for service
- 14 arrests
- 18 traffic collisions
- 47 crime reports taken

- Between Oct. 1 and 2, a suspect stole a leaf blower, its charger and a battery from the LA County Beaches and Harbor office in the 3600 block of The Strand. According to authorities, there was no sign of forced entry.
- On Oct. 4, police responded to a residential burglary in the 1200 block of 9th Street between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. A suspect shattered a window on the first floor to get inside the home and ransacked several bedrooms. Jewelry, handbags and a watch were reported stolen.
- On Oct. 7, police responded to a residential burglary in the 1100 block of Ronda Drive. The suspect was caught on surveillance camera attempting to open the front door and then walking out of camera view to the side of the home. The homeowner later found footprints in his backyard and a slider was open. Nothing appeared to be stolen, police said.
- Police responded to a residential burglary in progress in the early morning of Oct. 8 in the 400 block of Chabella Drive. The suspects fled before police arrived, but investigators saw that a door was forcefully pried open. A 500 lb safe containing several firearms was stolen, officers said.
- On Oct. 9 , police responded to a tripped burglary alarm at Jiffy Lube in the 1100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard. Video surveillance shows a suspect riding up on a motorcycle, breaking the glass garage bay doors, entering the business and stealing tools.
