House Sitter Finds Ransacked Home: Manhattan Beach Crime Summary

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From March 21 to 27 there were:
- 705 calls for service
- 10 arrests
- 21 traffic collisions
- 43 crime reports taken

- Between March 17 and 23 a residential burglary occurred while the homeowners were out. A house sitter was looking after the home, police said, and found all the lights on inside the house one day. When the sitter went inside, they saw the home was ransacked. According to MBPD, computers, antique jewelry and camera lenses were stolen.
- Between March 22 and 24, a burglar broke into a home under construction according to police. A neighbor noticed the fence surrounding the home was unlatched and making noise, so they notified the homeowner. According to MBPD, there was damage apparent on the interior and exterior of the home and the garage was ransacked. Several tools used by the construction crew were reported stolen, police said.
- On Match 25, officers responded to a burglary at the Auto Check Center at 2909 N. Sepulveda Blvd. According to police, a burglary happened the day before and there was surveillance footage of a suspect smashing a side entrance door. A credit card machine was stolen.
