Increase In COVID-19 Numbers In Manhattan Beach Mirrors Nation

The United States is experiencing an increase in the number of people testing positive for the coronavirus. Manhattan Beach is no exception.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — As COVID-19 positive cases increase nationwide, so, too, they do in Manhattan Beach. On Friday, Nov. 6, 437 Manhattan Beach residents had tested positive for the coronavirus since data began to be collected in March. Today [Tuesday, Nov. 10], there are now 449 MB residents who have tested positive since March. The numbers represent an increase of 12 positive cases identified in the five days.

According to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, "There are 888 people with COVID-19 currently hospitalized and 28% of these people are in the ICU. The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 each day increased to over 800 this past week and now nears 900. A month ago in early-October, the daily number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 was between 650 and 725 patients."
