Indiana Man Identified as Suicide Victim
The 22-year-old was found dead on the beach in the early a.m. hours of Sept. 22.
The man who committed suicide near the waterline at 42nd Street on Sept. 22 has been identified as Jeffrey A. Kast, 22, of Indiana, said Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County coroner's office Tuesday.
Kast died of a gunshot wound to the head after people nearby "watched him walk into the water" and then saw him lying on the beach, he said.
Kast's family in Indiana was notified of his death in September; Patch has now been able to provide details. Winter said Kast "had a history of some depression in the past."
