Little Sister Prepares to Open Her Doors

Will you be among those to venture in during the soft opening or her first week of business?

Abigaile's Little Sister is official. The soon-to-open Manhattan Beach restaurant will make its functional nickname it's honest-to-goodness real name, according to laeater.com, which also reports a July 9 soft opening for Jed Sanford and Chef Tin Vuong's new dining establishment.

On Monday afternoon, Vuong was seen exiting Little Sister. The former Hamptons and Sun & Moon Cafe site will bring a new aesthetic and cuisine to the alley corner that sits in the mecca that has become Manhattan Beach dining downtown.

The 52-seat restaurant has been adeptly brought to life by Anthony Agriam of Venice-based Bishop Pass, which did the work on Abigaile, a bright spot in the downtown Hermosa Beach dining scene. Little Sister has its own vibe and fare, said to be inspired by and bringing together elements found in a one-room schoolhouse, a Singaporean shophouse, the Far East and Western culture. The mix imitates the eclectic menu Vuong hopes to feature, which will include a seasonal Southwest Asian menu merged with European technique.

The Brewery at Abigaile will produce craft beer to accompany the menu.

Little Sister's full debut is set for July 11 at 5 p.m., according to the Abigaile and Little Sister Facebook pages. Little Sister is at 1131 Manhattan Ave.; (310) 890-7149.
