MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.

From Nov. 16 to Nov. 21 there were:

  • 467 calls for service
  • 13 arrests
  • 15 traffic collisions
  • 42 crime reports taken

  • A man was hospitalized after a physical confrontation with a group of minors, MBPD said. On Nov. 17 at about 10:10 p.m. officers responded to a report about a fight. According to police, the man was driving when an unknown object struck his car. The driver saw a group of minors and confronted them, which caused one of the boys to physically assault the man. The boy was arrested on suspicion of battery causing serious bodily injury.
  • A safe was stolen from the second-story primary bedroom of a Manhattan Beach home on Nov. 17, according to MBPD. According to police, the balcony door was shattered and the resident discovered a score driver and a ladder leading to the balcony.
  • On Nov. 18, another vacant home in Manhattan Beach was broken into by shattering a second-story balcony door. According to police, suspects entered through the side gate and stacked patio furniture to reach the second story. Jewelry was stolen from the home, police said.
  • Manhattan Beach police officers arrested a man in connection to a residential burglary in Hermosa Beach on Nov. 19. At about 8: 30 a.m., a Manhattan Beach Police Department officer spotted a car that had reportedly fled the scene of a burglary. After a short pursuit, the suspect crashed his car and ran into a residential neighborhood, police said.
