Man in Bayview Shots Fired Incident Arrested on Drug Charges

The former Manhattan Beach resident whose rental unit was the subject of a police and SWAT waiting game after a report of shots fired at the address in the 3300 block of Bayview Drive early on a Saturday morning in August surrendered to the Manhattan Beach Police Department Tuesday.

Now a Long Beach resident, Jeffrey Paul Henderson, 32, was booked on a felony warrant, which included charges of possession of a controlled substance (Xanax) for sales, possession of methamphetamine for sales and possession of Ketamine (Ecstasy) for sales, said Sgt. Paul Ford.

Henderson's run in with police began around 3:28 a.m., Aug. 10, when the Manhattan Beach Police Department responded to the 3300 block of Bayview Drive regarding a call of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found evidence of a gun having been fired inside the residence. 

SWAT teams from the Manhattan Beach and El Segundo police departments were requested to respond to the scene, where they waited for several hours until a search warrant was issued. Once issued, officers searched the home, finding a large amount of narcotics and no one inside.

Based on the evidence found inside the home, a felony warrant was issued for Henderson's arrest, said Ford.
