Manhattan Beach Burglary Suspect Nabbed Because Of Alert Resident: Police

Officers were dispatched to investigate a suspicious person based on a tip from a resident and found out the suspect was wanted for burglary

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- An eagle-eyed resident noticed something was off with a person sitting a car in the neighborhood and called the Manhattan Beach Police Department leading to an arrest of a suspected burglar, police said.

The incident occurred Saturday, March 18, in the 600 block of 36th Place. Officers were dispatched to investigate a suspicious person based on a tip from a resident.

"Upon contacting the subject and conducting an investigation, officers revealed the vehicle was stolen and the suspect had committed a residential burglary in the area," MBPD said in a statement.

Police said the suspect was apprehended because of an alert resident. Authorities urge residents to call the department if they see something out of the ordinary happening in their neighborhood.
