Manhattan Beach Car Theft Suspect In Custody Following Search
The suspect was described as a Hispanic or black man with a ponytail wearing red shorts and black shirt.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- A car theft suspect was in custody after nearly two-hour-long search Monday evening, Manhattan Beach Police Department said.
Police were searching around 3:45 p.m. for the suspect in the 3500 block Pacific Avenue. He was described as a Hispanic or black man with a ponytail wearing red shorts and black shirt, Sgt. Tim Zins said.
Zins said police had the suspect in custody at around 5:20 p.m. During the search, residents were advised by police to stay inside and locked their doors and windows.

Pacific Avenue was shut down during the search. The street has since been reopened.
