Manhattan Beach Chamber Asks Hahn To Stop Outdoor Dining Ban
Kelly Stroman pens a thoughtful plea asking the LA County Board of Supervisors to reverse and halt their order to stop outdoor dining.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA —
Good Evening Supervisor Hahn,
On behalf of the restaurant community in Manhattan Beach, I am asking you to please try everything within your toolbox to keep the restaurants open for outdoor dining. The latest Health Officer Order that moves restaurants to a take-out only model is devastating! It will decimate restaurants, employees, families, and nearby businesses that rely on the foot traffic that such restaurants generate. Take-out only is not sustainable. I fear the unintended consequence will be an immense impact on the mental health of many that are already on the verge of bankruptcy and struggling to provide for their families. This will catapult despair across the county.

You have always been a pro-business leader and a strong supporter of businesses in the county.
You have listened, reacted, and taken action with precision and grace. Thank you
We need you now more than ever to advocate to keep the restaurants open for outdoor dining. We were already swiftly adapting to the 50% or 8 ft spacing and are prepared to continue to do so. The restaurant community has spent thousands, if not tens of thousands, on PPE and creative outdoor dining environments that keep the customers and the employees safe. Please allow them to continue at least, through the holiday season.

This is go-time. It's the holidays, and the next 6 weeks can represent 40-70% of annual sales. Please don't allow LA County to be crushed again.
I understand there is a LA County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday morning in which the latest health order will be discussed. We appreciate your advocacy and attempt to direct the Public Health Department to reconsider this unfair closure in the restaurant industry.
Thank you in advance for your support and influence with your colleagues.
I pray your colleagues understand and are influenced by your logic, guidance, and long-term strategies to act in the best interest of the business community and the residents in LA County.
Warm Regards-
Kelly Stroman
