Manhattan Beach High School One of the Best in the State

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- A Manhattan Beach high school has been recognized as one of the best high schools in the state, according to a report compiled by Niche.

Mira Costa High School was ranked 66th on the 100 best California high schools list. Niche, a website for researching schools, used a variety of factors including SAT/ACT scores, student-teacher ratio, the quality of colleges students consider, and reviews from students and parents.

"I like this school because of its choices of extra-curriculars," a Mira Costa High sophomore told Niche. "The administration encourages the students to get involved with things such as band, drama, MUN, and all sports. Being a part of something makes high school easier for teenagers."

Niche used data from the U.S. Department of Education and its own analysts to create the 2017 rankings.
