Manhattan Beach Native Launches Roommate, Landlord Ranking Site
Rick Saunders described the site as Yelp and LinkedIn rolled into one for roommates.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- A bad landlord experience gave Rick Saunders, a Manhattan Beach native, the idea to start a social network for renters.
Saunders came up with the idea for RoomerResume.com after his landlord refused to return his deposit, according to the Beach Reporter. He said the site is Yelp and LinkedIn rolled into one for roommates, the Beach Reporter reported.
“With RoomerResume, you can bring your interactive rooming resume with you, wherever you go and have everybody rate or review you,” Saunders told the Beach Reporter. "At some point, I want it to be such a commonplace to where it’s like Linkedin. If you don't have a rooming profile, you’re not going to get a room or you’re not going to be able to show people that you’re trustworthy to be a roommate."

The site does not match people with potential roommates but is a platform that would make landlords and roommates more honest, according to the Beach Reporter.
