Manhattan Beach Pier Illuminated To Support Ukraine

Manhattan Beach will show its support for the people of Ukraine by illuminating the pier.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The Manhattan Beach Pier will be illuminated in blue and yellow, the colors of the Ukrainian national flag, as a symbol of solidarity with the people of Ukraine, city officials announced Friday.

In support of Ukraine, cities across the world are lighting symbolic landmarks, city halls, and historic buildings. Manhattan Beach is also showing its support.

“Manhattan Beach stands with cities throughout the country and the world in condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine,” Mayor Hildy Stern said in a statement.

“Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Manhattan Beach Pier will be illuminated blue and yellow in support of the Ukrainian people who have exhibited incredible courage and bravery in the face of this outrageous crisis," Stern said.

The Pier lights will be active through dusk through Monday.
