The Manhattan Beach Middle schooler, who will turn 13 in May, said she and the character have something in common in that she too is striving to find her place in the world.
“I think that's something that everybody goes through and turning 13 is a huge part of that process, becoming a young adult if you will, you're finding out where do you fit in life?" Lee told the Beach Reporter. “I think that's something that is really special and important for everyone to know that they are not the only people thinking that. They are not alone finding where they belong.”
