Manhattan Beach: Unplanned Flaring Event At Chevron El Segundo

The Chevron Refinery in El Segundo has reported "a contingency flaring incident." El Segundo Fire Department is on scene and monitoring.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The Chevron Refinery in El Segundo, bordering Manhattan Beach, is "experiencing a contingency flaring incident." Alerts to inform the public were sent out via the City of Manhattan Beach and Alert South Bay.

The El Segundo Fire Department is on scene and monitoring the incident. The South Bay Alert reads, "No action required at this time."

Chevron El Segundo's last flaring event occurred on August 31 starting at 12:50 a.m. and ended at 5:54 a.m. It was an unplanned event. The facility also experienced an unplanned event on July 13 from 3:20 to 3:55 a.m.
