MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The City of Manhattan Beach unveiled a new logo, "marking the most dramatic change in its visual identity since 1961" when the current City Seal was adopted, city officials said.

The new logo reflects the look and feel of the City today and complements the City Seal, the City of Manhattan Beach press release said.

"The new City logo is a reflection of our great City," said Mayor Nancy Hersman. "It is strong, beautiful, colorful and provides a sense of civic pride for residents and staff."

The new logo, which was designed in-house, presents the City as a California beach town with a "balanced, laid-back, classic, upscale, and family-friendly lifestyle, while paying homage to its past," the City said. City officials said the logo reflects the strength and direction of Manhattan Beach.

The City is hosting a grand opening of a pop-up retail shop called "Branded Manhattan Beach" on August 5 at City Hall. The shop will feature t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, coffee mugs and coasters with the new City Logo, which will range from $6.95 to $39.95.
