Mayor Richard Montgomery Welcomes Fisker Inc. To Manhattan Beach

Attendees get a 1st look at Fisker's all-electric Ocean SUV and meet its Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker, a legend in the auto industry.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Mayor Richard Montgomery officially welcomed Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker and Fisker Inc. to Manhattan Beach yesterday [Monday, Nov. 9] morning at the evehicle company's new headquarters in the city.

"It was sincere pleasure for me to meet and discuss our city with Henrik Fisker this morning and officially welcome him and his company to Manhattan Beach," said Montgomery. "Fisker is exactly the type of company we hope to attract here in MB as they match our commitment to the environment in making electric vehicles made out of recycled materials and vegan based interiors."

Mayor Montgomery, City Manager Bruce Moe and other dignitaries got to check out Fisker's Ocean SUV, planned for production in the fourth quarter of 2022. On Monday, the company was also celebrating the successful launch of its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday, Oct. 30.

Manhattan Beach, which is known for its focus on the environment and sustainability, is also known for all of the Tesla vehicles on city streets. Now, Fisker will add another welcome element to the city.

"For the city, it reflects the fact that environmentally based businesses want to be based here and enjoy our beach side community lifestyle," Montgomery said. "In addition, Fisker and its 300 employees will soon contribute to our local businesses and fuel our economic growth."

Fisker Inc. is located in Continental Park at 1888 Rosecrans Avenue. True Religion previously used the location, at the corners of Rosecrans Avenue and Aviation Boulevard, for its corporate headquarters.

Said Montgomery, "We also appreciate Richard Lundquist, president of Continental Development, for bringing Fisker Inc. to Manhattan Beach."

Fisker, founded in 2016 in Southern California, has named its new headquarters "Inception" and in a company news release says it is "revolutionizing the automotive industry by developing the most emotionally desirable and eco-friendly electric vehicles on Earth. provider with the world’s most sustainable vehicles."
