New Mexican Restaurant To Open In Manhattan Beach
The award-winning restaurant Mercado is set to open its fifth location in Manhattan Village in late August.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — An award-winning Mexican restaurant is coming to Manhattan Village in Manhattan Beach in late August.
Mercado won the Bib Gourmand Award, which is a tier below the Michelin Star system. The Manhattan Beach location will be the Cocinas y Calaveras restaurant group's fifth Mercado location and eighth restaurant overall — the group also includes Maradentro, Yxta, and Mercado Taqueria.
The Mercado brand was co-created by Jesse Gomez and long-time friend and chef Jose Acevedo. It was created in 2012 and its first location was in the heart of Downtown Santa Monica. Mercado has since introduced other locations in Los Angeles, Hollywood and Pasadena.
