New School Resource Officer For Mira Costa In Manhattan Beach

Here's your chance to meet the new Manhattan Beach Police Department School Resource Officer for Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Officer Donovan Torres is the new School Resource Officer for Mira Costa High School, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department. Officer Torres, who studied to be a school teacher, has been with MBPD for 5 years and in law enforcement for 10.

Officer Torres has worked patrol, CSI, SWAT, and Honor Guard while with MBPD. In addition to providing a level of safety and security for students, faculty and staff, he also wants to build relationships with students and offer mentoring and counseling. Officer Torres invites students to get in touch with him and "come and chop it up about music and sports".

Says Officer Torres in the video above, "I know it's a weird awkward season right now with the distance learning. Hang in there... When we come back on campus, my doors are going to be open. I'm here for anything: questions, concerns, advice... I'm here for you guys."
