Pair Arrested For Alleged Burglary In Manhattan Beach

Police have released video footage of one of the men because they believe there may be more victims.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- Police believe there might be more victims of a burglary suspect who was arrested over the weekend. Manhattan Beach Police Department on Tuesday released video footage of Sergio Martin Ortega in hopes that more victims come forward.

Ortega, 23, of Los Angeles was arrested Saturday along with a suspected accomplice when police responded to a burglary-in-progress call in the 1600 block of Gates Avenue. The homeowner notified police when he saw one of the suspects run from his backyard, MBPD Sgt. Tim Zins said.

The suspects were arrested a short time later. The alleged accomplice was identified as Jonathon Antonio Lopez-Mejia, 23, of Los Angeles. The pair was caught in possession of several burglary tools, Zins said. Both were booked for residential burglary and possession of burglary tools, he said.
