Manhattan Beach Police searching with a police K9 team captured two suspects hiding in a residential backyard early Monday morning, said the department's Public Information Officer Stephanie Martin.
Martin said the suspects were turned over to Redondo Beach Police, the city in which it is believed they committed a crime. A Manhattan Beach K9 team located the suspects on Bryant Place, a cul-de-sac street that intersects with Meadows Avenue near Mira Costa High School.
Hermosa Beach Police Captain Steve Johnson said the pursuit went through Hermosa Beach on Prospect Avenue and HBPD officers helped set up a containment perimeter when the suspects fled the vehicle in nearby Manhattan Beach.
The pursuit hit Manhattan Beach turf around 3 a.m., said Martin. The suspects were apprehended around 5:15 a.m. and a helicopter was used in the search. MBPD set up a containment and participated in the search.
Phone calls to the Redondo Beach Police Department were not returned.
