MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.

From Oct. 24 to 30 there were:

  • 804 calls for service
  • 23 arrests
  • 23 traffic collisions
  • 54 crime reports taken

  • On Oct. 25 at about 7:20 p.m., police responded to a residential burglary in the 2600 block of Poinsetta Avenue. The homeowner told police they were watching video from their security system and saw two suspects on their property. While at the scene, police received another report of a residential burglary in the 2600 block of Pine Avenue. The homeowner told police they saw two suspects in their backyard. The suspects were last seen running south toward Marine Avenue, but police were unable to locate them.
  • On Oct. 26 at about 12:38 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for several vehicle code violations near 45th Street and Highland Avenue. During the stop, an officer discovered that the driver of the vehicle was on parole. During a search, police found drugs and a firearm. The driver was arrested.
  • On Oct. 29 at about 1 a.m. police responded to a burglary in progress at Bevmo after a security guard saw suspects behind the loading dock near a vehicle. After the suspects saw the security officer, they got in the car and left. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw the back door to Mothers market was open and several items were on a pallet. Officers found the vehicle abandoned a short distance away and discovered it was a vehicle reported stolen. The suspects were not located.
