MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Statement form Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Janice Hahn regarding Manhattan Beach Racism Alive & Well As Peaceful Protesters Baited.

Editor's Note: The following statement was submitted to Manhattan Beach Patch for publication.

From Janice Hahn: "The destruction of Bruce’s Beach is a dark chapter of Manhattan Beach history – one that I appreciate residents are reckoning with. The racism and intimidation peaceful demonstrators experienced on Sunday was not that far off from what Black beachgoers experienced decades ago. If this weekend proved anything it is that it is not enough to simply confront the racism of the past. We need to confront the racism that is alive and well in our communities today."
