MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Surfers, kooks and locals in the South Bay are invited to engage in candid conversations about surf culture at the newly-installed aloha bench in Manhattan Beach.

In partnership with Kona Big Wave, professional surfer Hunter Jones recently sat down with surfers of all skill levels to encourage them to show peace, love and compassion while sharing the waves.

"I feel a responsibility to do my part to be a positive force in surfing and in surf culture," Jones said. "I think this whole campaign really embodies that and the spirit of aloha."

"It was really cool to see people come together and have conversations and learn from each other and take what they learned on the Aloha Bench into their next surf," Jones said. "As surfers, we're a tribe, so we're all looking out for each other."

The Aloha Bench was installed at Manhattan Beach early Wednesday morning and offers surfers at the iconic beach a chance to build a stronger local community. For a limited time, those at the bench can scan the QR code to watch the video and unlock a free Kona Big Wave for themselves and a friend at restaurants and bars.
