The Week Ahead: Funeral for Firefighter, Running Expert, Bike Sharrows

Here are five things for your Monday and week ahead in Manhattan Beach:  

  1. Funeral services for former Manhattan Beach reserve firefighter Carlos Lopez are set for Tuesday. Details here.

  3. Hear running expert and author Dr. Jason Karp at two locations Monday: iRun MB, 1112 Manhattan Avenue, from 4-6 p.m. and Pages bookstore, 904 Manhattan Avenue, from 7-8 p.m. The author will speak and sign his books. 
  4. A meeting about putting sharrows on Pacific Avenue will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in the police/fire building at 420 15th Street.
  5. City Council will hold an adjourned regular meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday in council chambers, 1400 Highland Avenue. The agenda reports the meeting is a closed session for performance reviews of the city manager and city attorney.
