Theft Biggest Type Of Crime In Manhattan Beach Nov. 30-Dec. 6

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Catalytic converters were popular the week of Nov. 30-Dec. 6 in Manhattan Beach as police reported four were stolen. Otherwise, the city was fairly absent of crime that week, as seen in the report from the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

No residential burglaries were reported, however, one commercial burglary took place with one attempted commercial burglary. Thanks to an alert witness, the individual who got into the All Yoo Boutique in Downtown Manhattan Beach was caught in the act.

Two auto thefts took place and a third one involved a hidden key fob in the 3700 block of Highland Avenue. The other two happened in the 1400 block of Marine Avenue and 600 block of Pacific Avenue.

Two assaults were reported on different days in the 1100 block of Tennyson Street. Two vehicle burglaries happened; one in the 1100 block of Pine Avenue and the other at 11th Street and Highview Avenue.

A petty theft occurred in the 1600 block of North Valley Drive and another in the 500 block of 5th Street. Additional thefts involved shoplifting, electronics and a wallet. Addresses for those three incidents are 1800 block of Rosecrans Avenue, 3200 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard, and 2700 block of North Sepulveda.

The four catalytic converters were taken from the 1800 block of Rosecrans Avenue; 200 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard; 500 block of 1st Street and 500 block of 2nd Street.

The Manhattan Beach Police Department reports these "Preliminary Crime Statistics," which are "subject to change and correction" as a way "to give citizens a good ballpark of crime in Manhattan Beach, but they are not official numbers."
