Thousands To Cycle For Cancer Cure At Manhattan Beach Tour De Pier

The charity event will benefit three organizations that work to advance cancer research and provide multi-layer support services.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The 12th annual Manhattan Beach Tour de Pier is bringing spin cycling to the beach to raise money for nonprofit cancer organizations.

The award-winning charity event will benefit three organizations that work to advance cancer research and provide multi-layer support services: The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, Cancer Support Community South Bay and the Uncle Kory Foundation for Brain Cancer Research.

the hottest indoor fitness activities of stationary cycling to the gorgeous outdoors," officials said.

At the event, the area's best instructors and celebrity guests will spin riders through five 50-minute sessions with music and entertainment. Additionally, the free Health and Fitness Expo will feature a diverse gathering of vendors.

For those looking to attend the event in person, registration as a single cyclist or a team will cost $50 to reserve a bike as an initial fee. Once registered, teams will need to raise at least $700 from friends and family before the event.

"Annually, the fitness fundraiser attracts 10,000 participants and attendees alike. Since debuting in 2013, the Tour de Pier has raised more than $12 million dollars," Officials said.

The event will take place on May 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and those who are interested in registering can visit the Tour de Pier website.
