MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — With Election Day here, candidates for Manhattan Beach City Council are winding up their campaigns and winding down to await results. Here's what five of them told Manhattan Beach Patch they will be doing today.

Phoebe Lyons

"On Election Day, I will be continuing the work of encouraging people to vote! On Election Night, I will be outside on the back deck of my house having a small low-key celebration with my campaign team. We will be ordering food from the great El Tarasco, taking pride in what we accomplished, and waiting for any results to come in.

"I plan to spend the morning at home with a cup of coffee and then head to MB Farmers Market.
In the afternoon, I will take Ellie, our dog, for a walk and then start reading my book for Book
Club; I’m about 3 books behind.

"In the evening, I plan to be at home with my husband Bill and my son Robby. Have some
dinner and a little wine.

At 8 p.m., I will host my Election Night Zoom Party."

Mark Burton

"Our team will be working from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. to turn out the vote! It would be great to have 100% voter turnout or as close to 100% as possible. As you may know, I made the motion to move our Council election from the low voter turnout March election (i.e. less than 25%) to the much higher voter turnout November election (i.e. more than 80%). To date, we are seeing great results in voter turnout. Great voter participation is what is best for Manhattan Beach!"

Richard Montgomery

"With family at dinner in downtown MB!"

Steve Napolitano

Day of—last day voter contact/get out the vote efforts. Night of—probably drinking a mai tai outside of Ercoles.
