MARINA DEL REY, CA — The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards statement for Santa Monica, Los Angeles County beaches and the Malibu coast from Monday at 6 p.m. through 2 a.m. Thursday.

An unusually high tide of 7.3 to 7.4 feet will occur each evening between 8:50 and 10:30 p.m., resulting in “minor tidal overflow of beaches and exposed parking lots around the time of high tide.”

“Pooling of sea water is possible around high tide at beach and harbor areas that is uncommon with normal tidal ranges,” the NWS warned. “Enhanced beach erosion is also possible. No significant damage is expected.”
