Celebrity Poker Fundraiser Planned, and Yes, You Can Get In on It

WHEN: 1 p.m.- 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11

WHERE: Microsoft Technology Center, 13031 W. Jefferson Ave. #200

WHAT: The PEACE Fund and Microsoft are teaming up to help bring fresh drinking water to those in need in West Africa with a star-studded poker game. Wells Bring Hope takes a different approach to fresh-water well establishment. In addition to visiting each well they’ve drilled once per month, they also provide ongoing education about proper sanitation and hygiene. The women in the villages achieve up to 50 percent increase in available time due to not having to transport water. As a result, they are taught basic business skills that enable them to better support their families.
