Fire Damages Apartment Building In Del Rey

It took 29 firefighters a total of 18 minutes to extinguish the fire in the Del Rey area of Los Angeles.

MARINA DEL REY, CA — A two-story apartment building erupted in flames in the Del Rey section of Los Angeles Wednesday night, and it took firefighters 18 minutes to extinguish it.

Crews responded to the building at 11844 Allin St., near Inglewood Boulevard, at 10:26 p.m. and a total of 29 firefighters initiated an offensive attack and quickly snuffed out the flames, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Knockdown was declared at 10:44 p.m., and one patient was evaluated by paramedics. No other injuries were reported, Prange said.

It was unclear if anyone was displaced by the fire or the amount damage the flames caused.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
