Police Tuesday were on the lookout for two gunmen who tied up a resident and stole cash and a Mercedes-Benz SUV in a home invasion robbery in Playa Del Rey.
The robbery happened late Monday, just before midnight, in the 7500 block of Vista Del Mar, said Sgt. Sharon Brady of the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Station. The resident was not injured, she said.
A vehicle believed to be the one taken in the robbery was later found abandoned off Jefferson Boulevard, she said. The white SUV was recovered at the intersection of Jefferson and Lincoln boulevards in the Playa Vista area, a news photographer reported from the scene.

Brady didn't know how long the robbers were in the home or how much money was taken. They were dressed in dark clothing and armed with handguns, she said.
The victim, a man, was confronted by the suspects shortly after he arrived home, a sergeant said at the scene.
