High Surf Advisory In Marina Del Rey; Rip Currents Expected

MARINA DEL REY, CA — Marina del Rey will see high surf and some winds in the mountains Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard.

Large breaking waves between five and eight feet will last through 9 p.m. in Marina del Rey with dangerous rip currents, NWS said.

These conditions make for a higher risk of drowning and injuries caused by waves and rocks. The waves could also make sailing with a small boat dangerous.

Authorities advise staying out of the water Wednesday and staying near lifeguard towers.

Wind gusts around 5 to 15 miles per hour will hit the city and Los Angeles mountains will see high winds through Friday afternoon.
