Parts of Marina Del Rey Will Be Underwater Because of Climate Change: Report

Using data from NOAA, Zillow determined which cities will be affected by climate change. The gist? Buy a life preserver.

MARINA DEL REY, CA — It may not be the best time to make long-term real estate investments in Marina del Rey, according to a new report from Zillow, the real estate website.

The website used data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to look at the 23 states in the U.S. along the coast to examine which parts would be underwater if sea levels rise by as much as 6 feet.

Zillow said that benchmark was picked because some researchers say that is how much sea levels could rise by 2100.

Much of Los Angeles, whose average elevation is 305 above sea level, will still be high and dry, but scores of multi-million dollar homes in parts of Marina Del Rey will be underwater.

Unfortunately, Zillow does not list the actual addresses of the homes it says would be lost.
