• Cedars-Sinai's new Marina Del Rey Hospital unwrapped (urbanize.city) — A new nine-story Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital tower is rising on Lincoln Boulevard, set to replace the aging 1970s facility and expand emergency and specialty care close to home. The glass-and-steel building will initially house 96 beds, with room to grow to 160, and is slated for completion in 2026 to meet California’s seismic safety requirements.
   

• Suspected Animal Cruelty Case: Brown Pelican Found in Los Angeles County With Slashed Pouch (edhat.com) — A severely injured Brown Pelican, likely harmed by human actions, was brought to International Bird Rescue in Marina del Rey and underwent a three-hour surgery that should allow a full recovery. Local residents are urged to report any suspected wildlife abuse and to contact Bird Rescue or animal control if they see distressed birds along our coast.
