Police Search for Woman Who Went Missing Near Marina Del Rey

20-year-old Meghan Ona Stebbins disappears near Marina Del Rey and is known to have borderline personality disorder.

Police in Los Angeles sought the public's help Thursday in locating a missing 20-year-old woman who, according to her mother, has mental health challenges.

Meghan Ona Stebbins went missing around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday from her
residence in the 900 block of Oxford Avenue, near Marina Del Rey, according to
the Los Angeles Police Department.

Stebbins called her mother Wednesday night but didn't reveal her location, her mother, Mary Kay Stebbins, told City News Service in a telephone interview from her home in Sioux Falls, S.D.

The young woman is with a man she met through the Internet and who picked her up at a treatment center Tuesday, Mary Kay Stebbins said.

"She doesn't know she is in danger," Mary Kay Stebbins said.

Meghan Ona Stebbins is white, has blond hair and hazel eyes, is 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighs 180 pounds. She was seen leaving in a black, late-model Mercedes-Benz.

Meghan Ona Stebbins has lived in Los Angeles "on and off for the last year and a half'' because it has "the best mental health program" to treat her borderline personality disorder, her mother said.

Anyone with information on the missing woman was asked to call Detective C. Carlton of the LAPD's Missing Persons Unit at (213) 996-1800.
