Tony P’s Receives Business of the Year Award
Tony P's Chefs were honored in Sacramento.

State Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance, awarded the owners of in Marina del Rey with a business of the year award.
Restaurant owners Tony Palermo and Dan Ringwood met in in Detroit in 1975 when they were both cooks. They also worked together at Teasers in Santa Monica in the early 1980’s, and opened Tony P’s in 1996.
“Tony P’s is the success it is largely because Dan and Tony work hard and never forget their larger responsibility to support their community,” Lieu said during the Salute to Small Business Day events at the Sacramento Convention Center on Monday. “I commend them for their exemplary commitment to helping meet local needs by donating to hundreds of non-profit organizations and schools through their ‘Dockside Dollars’ fundraising program.”

Palermo has served as a board member of the Santa Monica Convention and Visitors Bureau, and was active in the redevelopment of the Third Street Promenade.
On , Palermo will be sworn in as the new board chairman for the LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce.

Tony P’s won recognition for business of the year in Sen. Lieu’s district, which encompasses Carson, Del Aire, El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Lennox, Lomita, Manhattan Beach, Marina del Rey, Redondo Beach, Torrance, West Carson, and parts of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
