Water To Be Shut Off for Some Residents

Construction will begin in May on aging pipeline.

Water services will be temporarily shut off next month for residences and businesses along Admiralty Way.

The Department of Public Works will replace the current 14-inch waterline with an 18-inch pipeline to accommodate higher residential and fire protection demands. DPW expects to shut water off in 4-hour spans in May, and will notify residents 30-days prior to construction and again 48-hours before work begins.

Construction will start on Admiralty Way and Villa Marina and continue in phases to Fiji Way, with a tentative end date of late May, according to DPW.

After project completion, the water main along Via Marina and Fiji Way will also be replaced, likely during the summer. The total cost of both projects is $13.5 million.
