A woman survived floating for 12 hours in the ocean off the coast of Marina del Rey.

MARINA DEL REY, CA — A sailor saved a woman who was found stranded off the coast of Marina del Rey for 12 hours, Yo!Venice reports.

The water rescue happened Sept. 26 when a sailor saw a pod of dolphins, then realized a woman was also in the water.

She was found three miles off the coast and had treaded water and floated on her back for 12 hours after going on a swim near the Santa Monica Pier.

She was treated for hypothermia and released from a hospital.
