• Mariposa County Special Public Meeting on Abandoned Vehicles (sierranewsonline.com) — Mariposa County officials are holding a special public meeting this Friday, Dec. 19, to decide whether the county should join California’s Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program, potentially changing how junk cars are removed locally. Residents can attend in person at the Board of Supervisors chambers in Mariposa or call in, and will have a chance to comment on proposed code changes affecting neighborhood safety and blight.
   

• Mariposa Students, In Frame Youth Art Show Seeks Work (sierranewsonline.com) — Young artists in Mariposa County ages 11–18 are invited to submit 8.5 x 11 inch, two-dimensional works for the Mariposa Arts Council’s juried “In Frame” youth exhibition by January 9, 2026. Selected pieces will be shown in Mariposa gallery spaces this spring, giving students a professional-style platform to explore the theme “All Things Pass” and share their creativity with the community.
