2 Encampments Cleaned Up In Martinez

MARTINEZ, CA β€” Encampment cleanups were completed this week at two sites in the city of Martinez.

The first was at the shoreline in the Marina, the second was under the Alhambra Creek bridge at Berrellesa Street.

The cleanups were a coordinated effort involving city staff, Martinez police, Public Works crews, and an outside contractor, according to a newsletter entry from the city of Martinez.

"Staff will be monitoring the bridge site on a regular basis and coordinating enforcement with the East Bay Regional Park District to reduce the potential for recurrence of the problem," city officials said.

The city put together a new Unhoused Resources list for residents with helpful information on programs and resources available. This resource includes contact information, county programs, and useful tips on how to help people obtain services.
